Reiki
Reiki (ray-key) is an ancient holistic energy method of deeply relaxing and restoring the body, mind and spirit to its natural state of wellbeing.
The Benefits
Scientific studies of energy, whether in the
diagnostic forms of EEGs and fMRIs or in
modalities such as Reiki and acupuncture,
are helping us to better understand how energy
can heal us.
Many hospitals, such as The Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center for research and treatment in New York City, offer Reiki pre and post surgically as it has been demonstrated to relieve anxiety, reduce pain, increase healing, and decrease patient hospital time.
A Session
A one-on-one Reiki session is approximately one hour long. The practitioner uses gentle touch or no touch while the fully clothed
client relaxes on a comfortable massage table with soft lights and music, if desired. Clients usually experience deep
relaxation and feelings of peace and wellbeing. Reiki may also be used to calm, balance and assist in the healing of pets.
